Business Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Maintain continuous contact with internal and/or external customers to remain current on their operating environment and business needs.
  • Assist in the ongoing gathering of requirements for each customer group.
  • Assist in the development of business functional requirements for each customer group.
  • Work with the corporate IS staff to best understand what role IT can serve in addressing these functional requirements.
  • Assist the customers in quantifying the value of addressing the functional requirements, where IT is a primary component of the solution.
  • Assist in determining the best approach for tracking financial benefits associated with IT projects.
  • Assist the corporate IS staff in selecting the right technology to match the functional requirements.
  • Serve the role of liaison between the customer group and the corporate IS staff to facilitate an effective working partnership during the project.
  • Assist in any business process reengineering efforts associated with the implementation of the project.
  • Assist in the Testing/Quality Analysis of IT Projects and applications.
  • Assist in the on-going Support of applications.
  • Perform selective project management functions on IT projects, as appropriate.

Business Analyst  Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • 0 to 3 years experience in Business Analytics, Financial Business Analysis, Project Management, and/ or Sourcing Planning.
  • Experience working with major retailer customers is a plus.
  • Hiring Entry-Level Candidates.
  • Basic understanding of financial impact analysis.
  • Sales and Inventory Forecast Management experience.
  • Knowledge of Retail Industry and POS system reporting is a plus.
  • Strong PC skills including the Microsoft Office Suite; primarily Excel- spreadsheet modelling and database usage. 
  • Strong analytical mindset, and ability to communicate business analysis in a clear and meaningful way.
  • Ability to tackle a problem by using a logical, systematic, sequential approach.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to properly maintain confidential or sensitive information.
  • Ability to identify the information needed to clarify a situation, seek that information from appropriate sources, and use skilful questioning to draw out the information.
  • Ability to take responsibility for the associate's own performance and that of those reporting to the associate by setting clear goals and expectations, tracking progress against the goals, ensuring feedback, and addressing performance problems and issues promptly.
  • Ability to assess associates’ ability to be successful, especially at challenging new tasks; delegating significant responsibility and authority; allowing associates freedom to decide how they will accomplish their goals and tasks.
  • Approximately 10% travel is required.
